Just my luck!

Hey Ya’ll

So someone asked me the other day how often I will post, to be honest I don’t really know and I don’t want to make promises that I cannot keep – especially with uni, work and just life which is busy!

Umm did anyone see/feel/experience the crazy and ridiccccuuulous winds today, I had my lecturer today stop in the middle of the lecture and lab just to tell us that the winds were between 60-100km/ph. Good one mate. The winds were so strong I literally got blown away from the path. I was walking from my car to the uni block building and was just casually walking along the path and it was just a bit windy so my hair was all in my face and all that jazz and then suddenly there was a HUGE gust of wind and I mean HUGEEEE wind wave which came through and just blew me right off course and after a second I thought, yep sure that’ll go past but nope 5 seconds later I was still trying to fight the wind sideways and get back on the path, from behind I probably looked pretty drunk. A bit like so…

I think this illustrates leaning vs wind very well. But for small/short people like me with heavy bags it’s pretty hard to stay put when the wind is that strong. I was definitely leaning a whole lot! *Sigh*

Speaking of leaning/falling – had prac class the other day and we were doing athletics and it was just a warm up game we had to tag our partners in a designated activity area. Anyway I was running one way and someone else was running toward me but we were both kind of sideways, him being tall me being short, I was crouching a bit to quickly run away from my partner while this guy who was running toward me was trying to dodge his by going behind me. He clearly didn’t dodge well enough because his shoulder or hip went straight into my head and I fell.

It wasn’t a normal fall or a slow fall it was an instant ‘plank’ fall I got hit and my whole body just shut down and froze and I fell to the ground flat but on my side. Just like this poor kid except there was no carpet to protect me. Must say I was quite dizzy from that.

So far it’s all been disadvantages of me being small but here’s an advantage, you know those amazingly warm Kathmandu duck down jackets – yes well I have wanted one for about 5 years now! Went shopping the other day and they were on sale! I was about to buy a normal one which was about $140 down from $300 which is a pretty good deal but I walked further on in the shop and found the kids section – thought I’d have a peer over just to check it out and what do you know there is a kids black duck down jacket on sale! $99!!!! BOOM! Took that one straight away – fits me perfectly and I save myself some mulla! Take that normal sized people!! ;)

Special mention to these girls! – Number 1: They used to always lift me like so haha!!

Number 2: I was standing on a box for this picture!!

Next post - Some stories from my past!
